"Principal"一詞除了指校長以外，還有最高領導人的意味在裡面。

Mel用校長這個角色，來嘲諷那些貪官，罔顧學生（人民）真正的想法，所做的決策都是為了可以拿到更多的錢。

而電影裡「校長」靈感來源便是Donald Trump，可以說這首歌在講Mel的個人政治立場了。

另外，Principal的發音和Principle很像，是指做人的道德、標準，所以副歌一再唱到"Where's principal?"，其實就是在問"Where's principle?"，所謂的道德呢？。

3. 這是指「家庭隔離政策」，也是指美墨邊境的問題，還有同志權益的問題。
